Baseball Recap: South Davidson Takes a Loss

If South Davidson was feeling good fresh off their 13-7 takedown of Lexington last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. South Davidson came up short against the Salisbury Hornets on Tuesday, falling 17-4. The defeat continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Hornets: they've now lost seven in a row.

South Davidson saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dalin Johnson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Johnson has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. Mason Gordon also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

South Davidson's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Salisbury, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-8.

Coming up, Salisbury will challenge Page at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. South Davidson will be paying especially close attention to Salisbury's game: after Salisbury faces off against Page, they'll take on South Davidson again at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
