Softball Game Preview: Burlington Red Devils vs. Wilmington Wildcats

The Burlington Red Devils will venture away from home to challenge the Wilmington Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Wilmington will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Burlington extended their winning streak to three on Wednesday. Everything went the Red Devils' way against Melrose as they made off with a 14-7 victory.

Meanwhile, Wilmington got the win against Watertown on Wednesday by a conclusive 20-5. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by nine runs or more this season.

Wilmington now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Burlington, their win bumped their record up to 5-8.

Burlington beat Wilmington 7-2 when the teams last played back in May of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Devils since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
