Basketball Recap: Keenan Makes It Seven in a Row on the Road

Keenan extended their road winning streak to seven games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Brian Sumpter. Everything went the Keenan Raiders' way against the Newberry Bulldogs on Friday as the Keenan Raiders made off with a 71-51 win thanks in part to Sumpter, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten boards. The match was his fourth in a row with at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Marcus Simmons Jr, who went 5 of 9 en route to 12 points. That's the most points he has posted since back in November of 2024.

Keenan's victory bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Newberry, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-12.

Keenan didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 56-45 win against Fox Creek on the 25th. As for Newberry, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 76-39 victory against Swansea on the 28th.
