Basketball Recap: Del Sol Takes a Loss

Del Sol lost against Shadow Ridge back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Del Sol Dragons were outmatched by the Shadow Ridge Mustangs and fell 79-45. The Dragons were down 58-38 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

When it comes to explaining why Del Sol lost, don't look at Jaeden Alexander. Despite the final result, he posted 16 points along with five assists and five rebounds. The contest was Alexander's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelly Dawson, who had 14 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Del Sol's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Shadow Ridge, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.

Del Sol will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Legacy at 6:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025. As for Shadow Ridge, they will challenge Cheyenne at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
