Baseball Game Preview: Broadmoor Buccaneers vs. Family Christian Flames

Broadmoor hasn't had much luck against Family Christian recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Broadmoor Buccaneers will head out to challenge the Family Christian Flames at 4:00 p.m. Broadmoor will be strutting in after a win while Family Christian will be coming in after a loss.

Broadmoor is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Northeast 15-2 on Tuesday. The Buccaneers haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

M Bolivar made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. He has become a key player for Broadmoor: the team is 2-0-1 when he allows at most three hits, but 0-8 otherwise. Bolivar was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing Five bases. while going 2-for-4. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, T Corrales was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). B Porter was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Four bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Family Christian came up short against Brusly on Tuesday, falling 13-4. The Flames have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meetings.

The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-8-1. As for Family Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.

Thursday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Broadmoor has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .552. However, it's not like Family Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .535. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Broadmoor suffered a grim 22-4 defeat to Family Christian in their previous meeting back in February. Can Broadmoor avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
