Baseball Game Preview: Hoover Huskies vs. Lincoln County Panthers

The Hoover Huskies will head out to challenge the Lincoln County Panthers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hoover will be strutting in after a win while Lincoln County will be coming in after a defeat.

While Huskies fans will have to keep waiting for their team to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Friday's season opener. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over Nitro on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Huskies have posted against the Wildcats since May 20, 2021.

Braydon Bounds was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sam Salyers, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Lincoln County lost 14-2 to Sissonville on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Panthers have suffered against the Indians since May 13, 2016.

Hoover couldn't quite finish off Lincoln County in their previous matchup back in May of 2015 and fell 3-1. Can Hoover avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
