The Granville Central Panthers fell victim to the Louisburg Warriors''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were dealt a 49-0 loss at the hands of the Warriors. Granville Central's loss continues a unfortunate trend for the squad, making it seven in a row.
Luke Sharon threw for 68 yards on seven of 16 attempts. Trent Harrington was his top target, picking up 64 receiving yards and no touchdowns.
Donte' Strickland jr was on fire for Louisburg: he rushed for 182 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, and also threw for 102 yards and two touchdowns. DeMarcus Brown made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Granville Central's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 1-8. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 0.0 points per game. As for Louisburg, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season.
Granville Central will look to defend their home field on Friday against South Granville at 7:00 p.m. As for Louisburg, they will head out on the road to face off against Bunn at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bunn comes in on a streak of failing to score more than nine points in their last six games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
