Baseball Game Preview: Austin Maroons vs. Dripping Springs Tigers

Austin is 0-6 against Dripping Springs since March of 2017 but things could change on Monday. The Austin Maroons will take on the Dripping Springs Tigers at 6:00 p.m.

Austin is headed into Monday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of Del Valle.

Meanwhile, while Dripping Springs put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Akins. Dripping Springs didn't even let Akins on the board, marking Dripping Springs' second-straight 10-0 shutout. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won four in a row.

Dripping Springs pushed their record up to 10-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Austin, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-13.

Austin suffered a grim 10-1 defeat to Dripping Springs when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can Austin avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
