Basketball Game Preview: St. Croix Prep Lions vs. Holy Family Catholic Fire

The St. Croix Prep Lions and the Holy Family Catholic Fire will round out the year against one another at at 1:15 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Holy Family Catholic is hoping to do what Math & Science Academy couldn't on Saturday: put an end to St. Croix Prep's winning streak, which now stands at five games. St. Croix Prep claimed a resounding 88-53 win over Math & Science Academy. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 32 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Holy Family Catholic). They blew past Providence Academy 93-62 on Friday. Given the Fire's advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 127th, while the Lions are ranked 295th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Holy Family Catholic now has a winning record of 3-2. As for St. Croix Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.
