Softball Recap: Daniel Takes a Loss

Daniel came into this matchup off a tough 17-run loss on Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Greer Yellow Jackets by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 12-7 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

Addy Fraser spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on five hits.

At the plate, Brynn Fitzpatrick made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Lucy Maxon, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Daniel has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season. As for Greer, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Daniel will square off against Palmetto at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mustangs will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight. As for Greer, they will take on Easley at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Green Wave have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.36 runs per game on average), something the Yellow Jackets will no doubt try to take advantage of.
