Softball Recap: South Oldham Wins Going Away Against Dupont Manual

South Oldham was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against DuPont Manual on Thursday. The Dragons were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Crimsons. Considering the Dragons have won five contests by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Hailey Fackler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lauren Young was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Addi Schrecker was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs.

South Oldham's record now sits at 7-9. As for DuPont Manual, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Oldham will take on Elizabethtown at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for DuPont Manual, they will face off against Ballard at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
