Softball Recap: Exeter Takes a Loss

If Exeter was riding high fresh off their 13-0 takedown of Manchester Central on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Blue Hawks fell just short of the Keene Blackbirds by a score of 4-3 on Friday. The Blue Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blackbirds apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Exeter's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-8-1. As for Keene, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-7.

Coming up, Exeter will square off against Pinkerton at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Astros' pitching crew has only allowed 1.2 runs per game this season, so the Blue Hawks' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Keene, they will welcome Nashua North at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Blackbirds are facing the Titans at the right time seeing as the Titans are stuck on a 16-game losing streak.
