Softball Game Preview: Aberdeen Eagles vs. C. Milton Wright Mustangs

Aberdeen hasn't had much luck against C. Milton Wright recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Eagles will take on the Mustangs at 3:30 p.m. Aberdeen has given up an average of 17.5 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Aberdeen is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 13th straight game dating back to last season on Wednesday. They came up short against Fallston, falling 22-0.

Meanwhile, C. Milton Wright fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against North East on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Indians by a score of 2-1. The contest marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Izzie Youngworth spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits and racked up ten Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.3 strikeouts per game.

On the hitting side, C. Milton Wright saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madalyn Hoskins, who went 1-for-4 with one RBI.

Aberdeen's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for C. Milton Wright, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-4.

Aberdeen might still be hurting after the 7-1 defeat they got from C. Milton Wright in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
