Baseball Recap: Grenada Takes a Loss

Grenada was the 6-5 winner over South Panola when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Grenada fell 5-1 to South Panola on Tuesday. The Chargers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Grenada got a good showing from Carson Renfro, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Renfro gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Grenada saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Trusty, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Grenada's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 10-7. As for South Panola, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 10-7.

While Grenada had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
