Softball Recap: Ramona Has No Trouble Against Valley Center

Ramona won the last time they faced Valley Center and things went their way on Friday too. The Bulldogs blew past the Jaguars 14-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Kayla Gibson was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two triples, three RBI, and one run. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Tenley Devermann was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

Ramona hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive games.

Ramona's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-13-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Valley Center, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-17.

Coming up, Ramona will head out on the road to take on Steele Canyon at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Valley Center, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 22-1 victory against Bonsall on the 12th.
