Baseball Recap: West Anchorage Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with South Anchorage

West Anchorage faced South Anchorage in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Eagles lost 14-6 to the Wolverines. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Wolverines this season, with their most recent defeat being a 3-2 loss two weeks ago.

West Anchorage saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Boots, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Owen Tierney was another, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

This is the second loss in a row for West Anchorage and nudges their season record down to 3-11. As for South Anchorage, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-2.
