Basketball Recap: Le Roy Triumphs

Le Roy hadn't done well against Batavia recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Le Roy Oatkan Knights walked away with a 53-46 win over the Batavia Blue Devils. For the Oatkan Knights, this counts as revenge for the 68-62 victory the Blue Devils walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

Jake Higgins was a one-man wrecking crew for Le Roy as he dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jean Agosto, who went 7 of 13 en route to 17 points and six rebounds.

Le Roy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in six consecutive games.

Le Roy's record is now 5-2. As for Batavia, they moved to 3-2 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Le Roy will welcome Rochester Prep at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Batavia, they will head out to take on Newark at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
