Baseball Recap: Point Pleasant Continues Road Dominance on Tuesday

Point Pleasant entered their tilt with Nitro on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over the Wildcats. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Big Blacks have posted against the Wildcats since May 3, 2021.

Point Pleasant pushed their record up to 16-7 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Nitro, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Point Pleasant will face off against Gallia Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Nitro, they will square off against St. Albans at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Red Dragons' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
