Baseball Game Preview: Fairview Apaches vs. North Central Eagles

The Fairview Apaches will square off against the North Central Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Fairview will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

On Thursday, Fairview got the win against Ottawa-Glandorf by a conclusive 10-3. The result was nothing new for the Apaches, who have now won ten games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, North Central's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell just short of Hilltop by a score of 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Eagles have suffered since March 30th.

Jackson Poynter made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of North Central's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 7-1 (and 4-5 when he doesn't).

Fairview's victory bumped their record up to 18-4. As for North Central, their loss dropped their record down to 11-6.

Everything went Fairview's way against North Central in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, as Fairview made off with an 11-5 win. Will the Apaches repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
