Basketball Recap: Frankfort Comes Up Short

Frankfort was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 24th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 55-31 to the Crawfordsville Athenians. The Hot Dogs were down 40-19 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Crawfordsville's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Olivia Hedrick, who posted eight points in addition to seven boards and five steals. The dominant performance also gave Hedrick a new career-high in assists (four). Molly Pierce was another key player, putting up ten points and four steals.

Frankfort's defeat dropped their record down to 0-23. As for Crawfordsville, their victory ended an 18-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-18.

Frankfort and Crawfordsville could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. Frankfort (ranked 395th) will meet Tri-West Hendricks (ranked 136th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Crawfordsville will take on Danville at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday down 314 places (380 vs. 66).
