Baseball Recap: Avalon Black Knights vs. Jackson-Reed Tigers
After flying high against NOVA HomeSchool on Thursday, Avalon came back down to earth. The Avalon Black Knights fell just short of the Jackson-Reed Tigers by a score of 9-7 on Friday. Avalon was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Jackson-Reed apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2018.
Josh Langelli made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with a home run and two runs. Ethan Stepanik was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
On Jackson-Reed's side, Jackson Loomis and Freeman Hunt made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Loomis pitched an inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Hunt pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At the plate, Loomis scored a run while going 2-for-2, while Hunt scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
