Volleyball Recap: Northwestern Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Northwestern and Mourning squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Northwestern had to settle for second. They came up short against the Sharks, falling 3-0. The Bulls just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

It was another big night for Juan Clavijo, who had 24 digs and four aces for Mourning. That's the most digs Clavijo has posted over his last six contests.

Northwestern now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Mourning, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-12 record this season.

Northwestern does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mourning, they will face off against Miami Beach at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hi-Tides will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Sharks surely won't give up without a fight.
