Basketball Game Preview: Montgomery Cougars vs. Ridge Red Devil

The Montgomery Cougars will head out on the road to square off against the Ridge Red Devil at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Montgomery will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

On Saturday, Montgomery was able to grind out a solid win over St. Thomas Aquinas, taking the game 62-54. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 12th, while the Trojans are ranked 164th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Ridge's good fortune finally ran out on Sunday. They fell just short of Oratory Prep by a score of 63-61. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Red Devil have suffered since December 21, 2025.

Montgomery's victory bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Ridge, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Montgomery skirted past Ridge 48-45 in their previous matchup back in February of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
