Football Recap: Coginchaug Regional/East Hampton/Hale Ray Comes Up Short

Coginchaug Regional/East Hampton/Hale Ray was the 28-19 winner over North Branford when they last played one another back in November of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Blue Devils lost 28-6 to the Thunderbirds on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut football rankings (they are ranked 137th, while the Thunderbirds are ranked 38th).

North Branford can attribute much of their success to Billy Criscuolo, who rushed for 101 yards on only nine carries. Those 101 rushing yards gave Criscuolo a new career-high.

This is the second loss in a row for Coginchaug Regional/East Hampton/Hale Ray and nudges their season record down to 2-6. As for North Branford, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

Coginchaug Regional/East Hampton/Hale Ray does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for North Branford, they will square off against Sheehan at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
