Baseball Recap: Martinsville Comes Up Short

Martinsville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 19-7 to the Magna Vista Warriors. If the Bulldogs were looking for revenge after losing 19-3 to the Warriors when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Eland Blankenbaker was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That hit was his first of the season. Tyler Tolbert was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

Martinsville's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Magna Vista, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.

While Martinsville had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
