Soccer Recap: Oakland Comes Up Short

Oakland entered their game against Rockvale on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Patriots fell just short of Rockvale by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, Oakland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while Rockvale are ranked 18th).

This is the second loss in a row for Oakland and nudges their season record down to 4-6-3. As for Rockvale, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4-1 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oakland will venture away from home to square off against Blackman at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rockvale, they will head out to take on Green Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
