Basketball Recap: Cosumnes Oaks Comes Up Short

Cosumnes Oaks was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 73-58 to the Laguna Creek Cardinals. The Wolfpack were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cardinals earlier this season, when they won 69-63.

Despite the loss, Cosumnes Oaks still got an impressive performance from Devin Jones, who went 5 for 11 to rack up 14 points and six rebounds. Marcus Menefee was another key player, going 5 of 9 en route to 12 points.

Laguna Creek's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jordan Boyce led the charge by putting up 18 points. Another player making a difference was Jaylan Virgil, who went 7 for 16 on his way to 19 points.

Cosumnes Oaks' record now sits at 6-19. As for Laguna Creek, their win bumped their record up to 7-17.

Cosumnes Oaks wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, an 89-45 defeat against Monterey Trail on the 7th. As for Laguna Creek, they have also already played their next game, a 71-68 loss against Pleasant Grove on the 7th.
