Softball Recap: Granger Victorious

Granger's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They walked away with a 7-2 win over the Rosebud-Lott Cougars. That's more bragging rights for the Lions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Arianna Herrera was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits (and only one walk). Herrera was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Granger got a massive performance out of Skyla Thorsen, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Izzy Tavernier, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

The victory got Granger back to even at 4-4-1. As for Rosebud-Lott, they dropped their record down to 1-7 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, Granger and Rosebud-Lott will both be playing Bartlett the next time they take the field. Rosebud-Lott will host Bartlett at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, while Granger will host them at 11:00 a.m. on Monday.
