Basketball Recap: Lindale's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak at Home

Lindale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 56-47 to the Athens Hornets. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 851st, while the Hornets are ranked 339th).

Lindale's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-16. As for Athens, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-8.

Lindale will venture away from home to square off against Brownsboro at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Brownsboro will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Lindale surely won't give up without a fight. As for Athens, it'll be a Battle of the Bugs the Athens Hornets challenge the Kemp Yellowjackets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Athens knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Kemp likes a good challenge.
