Volleyball Recap: Celebration Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Celebration and Poinciana squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Celebration had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 3-2. The Storm were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Celebration's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Davi Jardim, who had 21 digs and one assist, and Daniel Santiago, who had 20 kills, nine digs, and six blocks. Jardim has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last six times he's played.

Poinciana's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jordan Isaac, who had 23 digs and 14 kills. That's the most digs Isaac has posted since April 8th. Another player making a difference was Yaniel Pujols, who had 26 digs and four aces.

Celebration has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season. As for Poinciana, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-8.

As of now, neither Celebration nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
