Volleyball Recap: Madelyn Glynn and Maria Elena Lambarena-Tanaka Secure Win for Advanced Math & Science Academy

There's no place like home for Advanced Math & Science Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Ayer Shirley Panthers on Friday. That's more bragging rights for the Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Advanced Math & Science Academy got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the fourth set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 23-25, 25-9, 32-30.

Leading Advanced Math & Science Academy to victory were Maria Elena Lambarena-Tanaka and Madelyn Glynn. Lambarena-Tanaka had nine digs and two aces, while Glynn had 27 digs and six aces. Those six aces gave Glynn a new career-high.

They weren't the only good servers: Advanced Math & Science Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 26 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Advanced Math & Science Academy's win bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Ayer Shirley, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four matches and leaves them with a 13-4 record.

As of now, neither Advanced Math & Science Academy nor the Panthers have any future games scheduled.
