Soccer Game Preview: South Davidson vs. West Davidson

South Davidson hasn't had much luck against West Davidson recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Wildcats will venture away from home to challenge the Dragons at 6:00 p.m.

South Davidson is headed into Wednesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Tuesday. They lost 4-1 to East Davidson. That's two games in a row now that South Davidson have lost by exactly three goals.

Meanwhile, West Davidson strolled into their game on Monday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They never let North Rowan get on the board and left with a 9-0 victory. Considering West Davidson have won 15 matches by more than two goals this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Their offense was hitting North Rowan from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Lillian Benton led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by herself.

West Davidson's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-0. Those road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those eight contests. As for South Davidson, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9-2.

South Davidson suffered a grim 9-0 defeat to West Davidson when the teams last played two weeks ago. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
