Baseball Recap: Everett Sets Scoring Season-High Against Marysville Getchell

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Eastside Catholic, Everett was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They never let Marysville Getchell get on the board and left with a 12-0 win. The Seagulls' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Jack Franklin was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Andreas Gutierrez was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Luca Morales, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Everett's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Marysville Getchell, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Everett will have a chance to go back-to-back against Marysville Getchell: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
