After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hampton Christian Academy, Denbigh Baptist Christian was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Portsmouth Christian Patriots 44-42. That's more bragging rights for the Minutemen, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Denbigh Baptist Christian was led to victory by Julia Kinney and Rylee Stewart. Kinney went 9 for 18 on her way to 20 points and five rebounds, while Stewart went 5 of 8 on her way to 13 points in addition to five boards and five steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Kinney has scored at least a third of Denbigh Baptist Christian's points.
