Softball Recap: Page County Extends Winning Streak to Five

Page County barely beat Clarke County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 16-4 win on Tuesday. That looming 16-4 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Panthers yet this season.

The victory (which was Page County's fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Clarke County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

Page County will square off against Central Woodstock at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season. As for Clarke County, they will challenge Stonewall Jackson at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
