Basketball Recap: Speedway Takes a Loss

Speedway played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Clinton Prairie Gophers, falling 71-45. While losing is never fun, the Sparkplugs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 392nd, while the Gophers are ranked 108th).

Speedway's loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Clinton Prairie, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Speedway will challenge Shelbyville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Shelbyville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.2 points per game this season. As for Clinton Prairie, they will face off against Clinton Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Clinton Prairie is facing Clinton Central at the right time seeing as Clinton Central is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
