Basketball Recap: Winterset Comes Up Short

Winterset was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 67-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Polk Comets. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 118th, while the Comets are ranked 33rd).

Winterset's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for North Polk, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 4-3.

Winterset will be home for the holidays to greet Carroll at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for North Polk, they are taking a road trip to square off against Waverly-Shell Rock at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
