Basketball Recap: Berkeley Triumphs

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Berkeley walked away with it. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Ripon Christian Knights on Tuesday, sneaking past 64-61. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Yellowjackets.

Ripon Christian's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jake Vander Veen, who posted 22 points. That was a full 36.1% of Ripon Christian's points, marking the third time in a row Vander Veen has put up more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Mason Tameling, who had 18 points.

Berkeley now has a winning record of 16-15. As for Ripon Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 24-7.

Berkeley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 68-60 win against Palma on the 6th. Ripon Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
