Softball Recap: Mcgavock Extends Winning Streak to Four

McGavock entered their tilt with Antioch on Thursday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They were the clear victors by a 25-4 margin over the Bears. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Raiders also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Amanda Toth made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Toth was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Addyson Brown was a standout: she scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Cailyn Ekberg, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5.

McGavock kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 21 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

McGavock's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Antioch, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Looking ahead, McGavock will host Pearl-Cohn at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Antioch, they will head out to challenge Overton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
