Basketball Game Preview: Hampton County Hurricanes vs. Whale Branch Warriors

Hampton County has gone 8-2 against Whale Branch recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Hampton County Hurricanes will be playing in front of their home fans against the Whale Branch Warriors at 6:00 p.m. One thing working in Hampton County's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matches.

Hampton County is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Barnwell: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Hampton County blew Barnwell out of the water with a 60-22 final score. The Hurricanes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 24 points or more this season.

Hampton County relied on the efforts of Lyric Jones, who posted 15 points, and Saniyah Sanders, who put up nine points. The matchup was Jones' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Khaliyah Dobson, who had nine points and five boards.

Meanwhile, Whale Branch came up short against Lake Marion on Tuesday and fell 48-35. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hampton County's victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-4. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.0 points per game. As for Whale Branch, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.
