Baseball Recap: Vinton Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Vinton took on Pitkin on Monday. The Lions fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 2-1. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Vinton's defeat dropped their record down to 16-11. As for Pitkin, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vinton will head out to square off against South Beauregard at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Lions' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Pitkin, they will venture away from home to face off against Westlake at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
