There's no place like home for Floyd, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against the Lake Arthur Panthers by a score of 35-22 on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Broncos: when they faced off against the Panthers back in January, they had to take a 30-28 defeat.

Floyd got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Nevaeha Brown out in front who posted 14 points. What's more, Brown also posted a 50% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Julianna Garcia, who scored 11 points.

Floyd's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 5-13. As for Lake Arthur, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season.

Coming up, Floyd will venture away from home to face off against Melrose at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lake Arthur, they will face off against Dora at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
