Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Elberta). They blew past the Foley Lions 17-7 on Tuesday. The win was familiar territory for the Warriors, who have now won three games in a row.
Destiny Garcia was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one RBI.
In other batting news, Elberta let Ava Jennings and Blakely Hooper run wild. Jennings scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Hooper scored three runs while going 3-for-5. That's the most runs Hooper has posted since back in April of 2024. Addison Cranford was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
Elberta kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 3.5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 11.4.
Elberta's victory bumped their record up to 4-12. As for Foley, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.
