Basketball Game Preview: Gateway Olympians vs. Northglenn Norsemen + Official Tickets

The Gateway Olympians will head out to face off against the Northglenn Norsemen at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gateway has given up an average of 75.8 points per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Gateway is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Adams City on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Olympians were beaten by the Eagles 70-40. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Olympians have suffered against the Eagles since February 1, 2022.

Gateway's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Colt Wenzel, who went 5-for-8 on his way to 11 points and eight boards, and Angel Couto, who posted eight points. Thanks to that strong game, Wenzel now owns an excellent 45.5% shooting accuracy. Zaylind Gildersleeve also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northglenn). They blew past Thornton 70-36 on Thursday. The Norsemen have beaten the Trojans the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Trojans has come to flipping the script.

Northglenn's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Gateway, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Gateway might still be hurting after the 67-45 loss they got from Northglenn in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can the Olympians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
