Recap: Leyton Warriors vs. Garden County Eagles

The Leyton Warriors stacked a 13th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They blew past Garden County 72-12 at home. The win was nothing new for Leyton as they're now sitting on three straight.

Zaili Benish continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 5-for-10 from deep and dropping a double-double on 30 points and ten assists. Benish is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Sydney Fortune, who scored nine points along with five steals.

Despite the loss, Garden County saw an underclassman step up: Ridglyn Stanczyk scored five points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Stanczyk has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Garden County struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Leyton's victory bumped their record up to 19-3. As for Garden County, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-16.

Leyton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Garden County, they and Hay Springs will face off at 4:00 p.m. on February 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Garden County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 35 on Thursday.
