Sparrows Point gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They walked away with a 14-6 win over the Lansdowne Vikings. The Pointers haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Despite the loss, Lansdowne had strong showings from Daion Wheeler, who picked up 188 receiving yards and one score, and Ayeden Butler, who threw for 264 yards and one TD. Wheeler really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 82 yards.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sparrows Point will host Patapsco at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Lansdowne, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Towson at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. This will be the Vikings' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
