Preview: Ewing Blue Devils vs. Trenton Central Tornadoes
Ewing is 7-1 against Trenton Central since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Ewing Blue Devils will play host again and welcome the Trenton Central Tornadoes, where tip off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Saturday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Ewing beat Paul VI 61-56.
Ewing got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Rhian Stokes out in front who scored 21 points along with eight assists and eight rebounds. Stokes is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Joi Johnson, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and five blocks.
Meanwhile, Trenton Central earned a 56-43 win over East Side on Monday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Trenton Central.
Ewing has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Trenton Central, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8.
Everything came up roses for Ewing against Trenton Central in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 58-30 victory. Does Ewing have another victory up their sleeve, or will Trenton Central turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
