Football Game Preview: Smyer Bobcats vs. Tahoka Bulldogs

Smyer is 0-4 against Tahoka since September of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Bobcats will face off against the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Friday, Smyer ended up a good deal behind Plains and lost 20-6.

Meanwhile, Tahoka might've scored the first points on Friday, but it was Sundown who claimed the real prize. The Bulldogs were just a hair shy of victory and fell 16-15 to the Roughnecks. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Smyer will need to focus on slowing down Dante Garcia, one of several Tahoka players who made an impact when they last played. He rushed for 76 yards, and also threw for 52 yards and two TDs while completing 75% of his passes.

Tahoka's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Smyer, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.

Smyer was taken down by Tahoka 48-14 when the teams last played back in November of 2024. Thankfully for the Bobcats, Jordan Hicks (who rushed for 140 yards and three touchdowns on only six carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
