Baseball Recap: Mt. Vernon Takes a Loss

Mt. Vernon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 11-1 to the Moline Maroons.

Mt. Vernon saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Kiefer, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Mt. Vernon's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mt. Vernon will challenge Triad at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Moline, they are headed away from home for the first time to challenge Belleville East at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
