Depew and Mounds pushed the score to 10-9 the last time they played Mounds, but on Thursday defenses reigned supreme. The Hornets came out on top in a nail-biter against the Golden Eagles, sneaking past 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Hornets have posted since March 9, 2025.

Depew's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kyler Fenton, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Depew now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Mounds, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
